RUF

Reformed University Fellowship

We are currently preparing and planning to begin a chapter of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) on the campus of Jacksonville State University in the fall of 2011.  From RUF's website is a statement of the purpose for RUF:

"The purpose of RUF is to build a community on the college campus that reaches students of divergent beliefs and doubts with the message of the gospel and equips them to love and serve Jesus and his church."

Part of the process of beginning an RUF deals with fundraising.  In order for there to be a chapter of RUF at JSU, we will need to raise $30,000 to provide a portion of the funds that will be needed.  The RUF minister who is called to serve at JSU will also be required to raise a significant amount of funds.  There will be some additional funds provided by the Alabama RUF state committee of the Presbyterian Church in America. 

If you would like to see a chapter of RUF at JSU, you can help in the following ways:

• Prayer.  There are many pieces to the puzzle which must come together for this dream of an RUF to become a reality.  In addition to the funding, a campus minister must be located and called before he begins to raise funds and move to Jacksonville to serve.  Please pray that God would provide all that is needed to begin an RUF in Jacksonville.
• Spread the Word.  We need your help in a couple of different ways.  If you know of individuals who are alumni of Jacksonville State University, especially those who are members of PCA churches, please tell them about the work that is taking place in Jacksonville toward beginning an RUF and encourage them to contact us or look at our website for more information.  In addition, if you know of people who have been blessed by the work of RUF and would be supportive of an RUF chapter at JSU, please ask them to get in touch with us.
• Give.  Please consider giving to support the founding of an RUF at JSU.  Whether your gift is a one time contribution or an annual, quarterly, or monthly gift,  and no matter what the amount of the gift, each donation will be greatly appreciated and is greatly needed.  Contributions may be sent to the following address:  Hope Community Church, 101 Lockette Drive, Jacksonville, AL  36265.
