Reformed University Fellowship

We are currently preparing for the beginning of a chapter of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) on the campus of Jacksonville State University in the fall of 2012.  From RUF's website is a statement of the purpose for RUF:

"The purpose of RUF is to build a community on the college campus that reaches students of divergent beliefs and doubts with the message of the gospel and equips them to love and serve Jesus and his church."

By God's grace, the initial, needed funds to begin RUF in the Fall of 2012 have been pledged and a Campus Minister has been approved by the state RUF Committee.  Grant Carroll was interviewed and approved as the Campus Minister for RUF at JSU.  Grant will still face examination and approval from Presbytery early in 2012.  Grant is married to Camille have two boys, Joseph and Nathan and they currently reside in Kosciusko, Mississippi where Grant serves as the Assistant Pastor and Minister to Youth and Families at First Presbyterian Church.  Grant also is currently serving as the Campus Minister for RUF at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Mississippi.  We anticipate that the Carroll's will move to Jacksonville in June 2012 to begin ministry for the Fall Semester.

If you would like to support this new chapter of RUF at JSU, you can help in the following ways:

  • Prayer.  There are many pieces to the puzzle which must still come together as this longstanding dream of an RUF at JSU becomes a reality.   Please pray that God would provide all that is needed to begin an RUF in Jacksonville.  Please pray for Grant and Camille (to sell their home in MS, to find a home in Jacksonville, for their family to make the necessary adjustments to ministry at JSU, etc).

  • Spread the Word.  We need your help in a couple of different ways.  If you know of individuals who are alumni of Jacksonville State University, especially those who are members of PCA churches, please tell them about the work that is taking place in Jacksonville with RUF and encourage them to contact us or look at our website for more information.  In addition, if you know of people who have been blessed by the work of RUF and would be supportive of RUF at JSU, please ask them to get in touch with us.

  • Give.  Please consider giving to support the ministry of RUF at JSU.  While the initial funding goals have been met, there are still more funds to be raised, both in the near future and as ongoing support.  Whether your gift is a one time contribution or an annual, quarterly, or monthly gift,  and no matter what the amount of the gift, each donation will be greatly appreciated and is greatly needed.  Contributions may be sent to the following address:  Hope Community Church, 101 Lockette Drive, Jacksonville, AL  36265.
