Our Ministry Team

We are delighted to have Brian and Hope Cook and their family as an integral part of our ministry team. Brian leads our music, beginning even before our first worship service while we were meeting together in Bible studies.  Brian and Hope are lifelong residents of Alabama. Brian was raised in PellCity, while Hope was raised in Munford. They met in the summer of 1998 and were married in the summer of 1999.

For the first five years of marriage they made their home in Jacksonville and then in nearby Weaver. At the present time, the Cook family lives in RainbowCity. Brian has worked for Cintas in Gadsden for the past five years. Hope is grateful for the opportunity to homeschool their three children: Katie (ten years old), Ethan (eight) and Ella (five). Brian and Hope have also served the Lord as foster parents to a number of children.

Brian and Hope had been actively involved with children’s, youth, and music ministry for several years at a church in RainbowCity.  Steve’s family and Brian had known each other for a number of years. While a student at JacksonvilleStateUniversity, Brian attended another church near Jacksonville where Steve served during his seminary years in the 1990’s. This relationship between the Mayes and Cook families was renewed in early 2009 when Brian and his family began attending Bible studies in the early stages of the planting of HopeCommunityChurch. We look forward to many years of serving and worshiping the Lord together in Jacksonville.
